  Arrival and a glimpse of Old Cairo (around 08:00–9:00 AM)

  Your guide shows you a few streets of historic Cairo and explains how the city developed around the Nile.

  Grand Egyptian Museum (about 2.5–3 hours)

  The GEM is the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. Your local guide leads you through the Grand Staircase, the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Tutankhamun galleries. The guide chooses the best route so you see the highlights without queuing for each hall.

  Authentic Egyptian lunch

  Lunch is served at a selected local restaurant: grilled meats, rice, salads, bread and dips, with vegetarian options on request.

  Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx (about 2–2.5 hours)

  You visit the Giza Plateau, with time for photos at the panoramic viewpoint near the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Your guide explains how and why they were built, then you walk to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Entering inside a pyramid and camel rides are optional extras and are not included.

  Return drive to Hurghada (depart about 03:00–5:00 PM, arrive about 09:00–11:00 PM)
  Your return time follows your morning start. You relax in the car, and your driver drops you at your hotel lobby.
